Horizontal Lines On Top Right After Opening and Closing Laptop

I recently opened my old Acer 370c laptop to re-install my hard drive. Up until then it was working perfectly. Now every time it starts up there are horizontal lines going down the whole top right quarter of the laptop screen. I have opened and closed this laptop several times and the problem persists. Does anyone know what could be wrong and how to fix it. I think it has something to do with the cable that connects across from the main board to the Laptop screen.

I would say your diagnosis is correct. Sounds like a connector has loosened a bit.
