Horizontal lines on LCD

Got an old Compaq Ipaq H3955 pocket PC from a friend I'm trying to fix.

On the LCD there are horizonal lines of white that never change on about the bottom 10% of the screen. Some of the lines go away when I put pressure on the area beside the lcd, and what is supposed to be displayed appears.

Is there any fix for this kind of thing? I'm gonna open the case tomorrow when I get some torx drivers and can update with pics if needed.

There is a bad/loose contact between the lcd screen and the controller. This explains why some lines go away when you put pressure. Try to find the cable that goes from the screen to the board and check to see if it's in all the way.
