Horizontal line when watching video on my screen (DVI-HDMI)

As stated above, I get a horizontal line every now and then that runs down my screen when I'm watching a video on my TV which is hooked up to my main rig,
The Screen is a Sharp Aquos 32' 1080p. It is hooked up via DVI-HDMI cable to the screen. Regular viewing doesn't have any issues at all...and no such issues if I was to watch a video on the computer monitor. I tried changing ports & drivers, but the line still persists. Basically it only happens when I'm watching a movie from my computer on the big screen.
It's not awfully bad, just a bit distracting when it happens every now and then.

Running it on a 8800gts, not overclocked.

I have no issues at all watching DVDs through a regular DVD player or the xbox...regular television's great too...only video files from the computer.

ok folks I figured out the problem...
seems like a nvidia driver issue, not sure if this is vista specific or not...

If I set my HDTV as primary display(at monitor's 1680x1050 resolution), I get no tearing on it...but I start getting tearing on the computer monitor during video playback(which is fine since I'll be watching the TV).
My monitors max resolution is 1680x1050 while the TV can go to 1920x1080 resolution. I can't get it to setup right in Dual View mode with each running at their own respective resolutions correctly. I have to downgrade my TV to 1680x1050 to run both simultaneously in Clone mode. Or I can just go 1920x1080 on my TV, but my monitor doesn't work at that resolution (TV's a few feet a way, so it's a bit awkward).
If I set the TV to primary in Clone mode I can play the videos flawlessly on it, which is great, but I just ordered a HD/BLURAY drive for the PC, so 1680x1050won't be the true HD resolution, so it'll be a hassle to run back and forth and switch profiles to get the most out of the setup if I run the TV at 1920x1080....

Did I confuse you folks as much as I confused myself with the explanation?


now the next step is to figure out a more or less convenient way to manage this setup
