I hope in the future we don't have AMD/ Intel computers with different specs or the different macs, but instead Microsoft 1. Microsoft 2. ect.

"Yeah check this out, got the new Microsoft 3 the other day."

Edit: didn't intend to troll, but I guess it came out that way.

Please explain. I am completely confused

Ummmm, ok.

I don't think that will happen unless one of them decides to abandon x86. Which doesn't seem too likely in the near future.

Edit: Not sure if that was what you were asking but that is what I decoded from your "sentence"

I mean microsoft (or any company) buys them all up. Or where AMD and Intel are just sub companies of the bigger one. I don't mean that the hardware would change or anything. I just learned what "mindshare" was.

I think it would be neat.

It would be fine for the company, but horrible for the consumer.

That's what you call the beginning of a monopoly.

The only thing right now that can break Microsoft is open source.

And it's going to take a while before open source wins the battle

But things ARE getting there =)

I like choice, I like competition. Helps everyone stay honest

I felt a little spooked when I saw microsoft hardware; I didn't understand fully at the time though. I don't want to point fingers just at microsoft though, because there's a few big birds out there that could take a little too much control.

Apple could break the Microsoft dominance if they didn't suck so much 😛

My powerbook would have rolled its eyes at that, if it had eyes.

EDIT: IT HAS XEYES! It just rolled its eyes at you.

Err...I've actually heard in some places that Microsoft already has ownership of Apple 😛

reminds me of those programs that convert text to speach... we used to have tons of fun with them getting it to say (and pronounce correctly) curse words.

It actually worked without a sound card.
