Hope this doesn't get locked but.... Is the Anandtech Crucial.com deal 15% off web price?

I went through the crucial link for the anandtech discount, and it still takes me to memory prices with the web discount, but nothing else. Is this correct? Is the anandtech deal just in case they raise their 15% web discount. I need ram so I was just wondering. Thanks,.

why don't you just go for the Staples RAM deal which is from 12/20 to 12/24.
256M 24.94 after 15$ rebate,
128M 14.94 after 10$ rebate
check the threads tha discuss the RAM deal

I'm wondering the exact same thing.

I've never bought from Crucial before, and all of a sudden I need to upgrade the RAM on two of my computers. Let's give Crucial.com a try...

I clicked through the Crucial-Anandtech "exclusive discount" link and... Surprise!

There is no change from the already discounted "web price" at all!

What's up with that?

yes it will get locked, especially after I answer your question.

the 15% off is off Crucial's regular price, not the web price. by buying on the web they give you a 10% discount off their regular price.

for example, this is with the anandtech discount.
256MB $72.99 $62.04 CT3264Z265 DDR PC2100 ? CL=2.5 ? Unbuffered ? Non-parity ? 2.5V ? 32Meg x 64

and this is with the web price discount
256MB $72.99 $65.69 CT3264Z265 DDR PC2100 ? CL=2.5 ? Unbuffered ? Non-parity ? 2.5V ? 32Meg x 64

gsaldivar, the reason you don't see a difference is because crucial places a cookie on your system identifying you as having the anandtech discount. so, after you click the link, everytime you go back without deleting that cookie, it will show the 15% discount.

lock it up

Didn't the AT discount used to be 16%? Seems like the 15% dealio has been around for quite some time elsewhere. Or maybe my Alzheimers is kicking in for the holidays..... ;)

yes, from time to time a 15% off deal was found for new businesses. and back then the web discount was only 4% instead of 10%. times change.

I remember it being 16%...Don't you get the 15% off automatically by purchasing online?
