My hope is they have atleast one PvP only server. I dont want any of that +PvP and -PvP on one server crap. Or consensual duels. Consensual duels are NOT PvP.

Maybe they'll do it as on a MUD I used to play, where you can choose to become PKer, but can not go back to not being one once you have chosen for it. Everyone could see who was a PKer by looking at them.

Any game that has both PvP and no PvP on the same server, needs a dedicated PvP server. I want segregation, pvp on a mixed server is not as fun.

As of now, unless you're on comcast (there was some email problem), you will not be getting an email, as they have all been sent.
Guess I'm 0-4 in blizzard betas :(

I am still waiting for my email as well. I was a beta tester for Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne and would love to test this out as well. All I can do is wait and wait and wait some more...........

LoL... My friend was on the alpha, and is now doing beta, and he just got a job, so is screwed! Bwhahahahahahah!!!

DaoC did it the best. RvR was the main reason to play that game. Added a whole new dynamic to the grouping aspect. Setting sieges on Keeps... just so much fun, too bad I doubt I'll ever play anohter mmorpg again, even though I really really wanna pay for WoW. I just dont have the time or commitment it takes to level and level. I'm lucky if I get 5 hours of gaming in a week.

oh, and I didnt get in either.

My friend got lucky. He got his friend's list email and then the 2 accounts he made up too. However his girlfriend didn't get her friend's list email and his brother didn't get in. I saw keys going for $300 on ebay last night.

In other news, the game was pretty fun. Not incredibly well polished yet. There are some glitches that apparently you have to log out and log back in to fix, some camera problems, some death problems. The in-game help is weak. It is fun though leveling and partying. People are generally helpful in there as it is still the beta. I put in about 4 hours last night and got a human warlock to level 6.

<--- lvl 24....but i turned red after i pvp'ed too much....and i got gang raped while dekarma-ing and dropped my elven bow among other things...lost about 900k adena worth of stuff...maybe there is a higher being in power as i needed to study and it's finals week :Q

i pk'ed this one guy because he was being an arse in the varul foulclaw quest (ur an elf so you probably knw the quest and the line that is included in it). the people in the dungeon celebrated his death, and me, trying to protect myself, i had to kill a number of people just to get away lol...i never recovered the karma...

so kugr eh? during spring break i'll see if i can get 1 mil adena back by farming

Lineage 2 is crap for pvp because of the karma thing. Hardcore pvpers get the sh!t end of the stick because they completely lose out on karma..

Shadowbane was a true pvp game. You could kill anyone anywhere anytime.. (except in 3 n00b cities) The problem with Shadowbane now (even though the characters are finally balanced and the game almost never crashes) is that the population is too low.

They always do multiple rounds of betas... I got in on the second round for the Warcraft 3: ROC beta, and the second or third with the expansion

I got my e-mail last week. I was part of the Alpha test thanks to a friend on this board. I have been trying to download the game over the last two days, but I having trouble with my ISP.

I will be posting comments and answering question on www.ATGamers.com. :D

Me too... :(

I used to play UO and it was just so damn fun with its PVP. For example, this story:

One day I decided to check out the "10 Most Wanted" list on the server I was playing on. I noted that #1 was a character named "Indiana Jones". Later that day or week, I was just wandering around in a cave. Suddenly, "You are being attacked by Indiana Jones!!" came up on my screen.

I freak out, and soon noticed that I am no match for this mage... and start to run for my life. I keep taking hits while I run, but I finally exit the cave, still running. Once outside, I bumped into this badass-looking knight dude in black armor. I'm screaming "Heellllllp!" as I run by the knight. He stops me.

"What is it?"

"Indiana Jones is chasing me! He's right inside of that cave and he's trying to kill me!"

"Stay here." He dashed into the cave.

A minute went by, and the knight emerged and walked back up to me.

"You can have all of his stuff. But I get his head." He threw Indiana Jones's bag of stuff on the ground at my feet. "I've been looking for this guy for a month. Thanks."

That's just one story of many. PvP is sorely missed.

well if there's no penalty then there will be too many uber people picking on the lesser people.....both players can agree to pvp with that, there is no penalty for pk'ing one another. Also, there are organized pvp events once a week or so.
