I was at Boston Pizza late last night and there was only one other party in the restaurant. I parked beside a giant pick-up truck and apparently should not have. He clipped my rear fender/bumper/tail light and of course didn't leave a note. I filed a police report with a good description of the vehicle (it was customized) but no license plate number, I don't think that's gonna go anywhere though. Insurance will cover it but because insurance is fucked where I live I still have to pay a $750.00 deductible (for damage estimated at about $1500). Those jerks were sitting right next to us too. There is a small chance that I can either find the truck or the name of the guy (If BP decides to release that information to me) and then I would get my $750.00 bucks back and the idiot would be charged with a hit and run. Luckily I live in a pretty small town so as long as he also lives here I will probably see the truck again. I have 2 years to prove it was him according to my insurance.

Now for the lovely pics:

And yes I am aware that those rims suck :D. The previous owner put them on and I'm just burning off the tires then I am going back to stock rims.

Thank you for listening to me vent.

Without a witness, it's going to be hard to prove they did it.

Does the pizza place, or any other business where you parked have street facing cameras that might have caught them on video 'hitting' you vehicle?

wow. Insurance in boston is 50% deductable? Or is that what you chose?

Hahaha, that is a moist-maker sandwich I made the day after thanksgiving. The middle piece of bread is soaked in gravy and otherwise it is just turkey and cranberry sauce.

I checked with all of the adjacent businesses and none have any external security cameras, however a business also manages the parking lot and I am planning on phoning them tomorrow.

According to the police and my insurance company if I accuse somebody (with a name or license plate) and it matches my description then they can ask them to come in for an inspection and will be able to tell via height/damage/paint measurements whether or not they will use his policy to pay for my claim.

Insurance where I live (BC, Canada) is terrible, quite literally the worst in North America. They told me I was covered but only just barely (because I don't have any collision or comprehensive coverage). The thing is I asked what my deductible would be if I had full coverage and it would still have been $500.00, and full coverage costs WAY more than an extra $500.00 a year.

Pay more attention to what Coverage you Buy next time. Your characterization of ICBC is way off the mark.

I respectfully disagree with you. I've never met a single person who told me they were happy with ICBC.

Is anyone ever happy with an Insurer? You might want to compare it before assuming it's the worst. Not even close.

wow. it does suck. i went to their website and found this:

What is included
Collision coverage applies when:
  • you hit another vehicle, person, object or the surface of the road
  • the vehicle needs towing, storage, or salvage disposal as a result of a claim for loss or damage
Depending on the type of vehicle, deductibles may start at only $300 for collision coverage.

my deductable for collision is $50.. gotta love progressive.

No, but I can see that Ideology is involved with your view of ICBC.

Yes it is, do you like having the government tell you that you have no choice when it comes to basic insurance and that they can set the rates any way they want and that a single insurance company should have 99% control over the market? Remember when the NDP made ICBC basic autoplan mandatory most of the NDP MPs had a hand in the used car sales market.

Personally I don't care either way. ICBC is just not even close to the worst Insurer in NA though.

Alright, I am genuinely interested in you proving me wrong (other than Mexico) please tell me which insurance companies are even shittier than ICBC and why.

Your claim of Value(or lack thereof), you first.
Sorry, that's really weak man... Ok at least tell me why you aren't unhappy with ICBC. Also if you remember I didn't say anything about thinking other insurance companies were shittier than ICBC.
