Hooking up a Windows XP pc to a peer to peer nw

Our office has a peer to peer network of 25 with computers running W98/95, NT3.5/4, 2000/2000Pro, mainly sharing files. printers, and internet; we would like to add a couple more. While looking for a low end Gateway PC online, we saw note stating :

"Windows® XP Home Edition is a consumer operating system and does not support peer to peer networking of more than five computers, domain authentication, Encrypted File System or remote system management"

which seems a bit strange considering the Msft own KB indicates any user can join a work group, if domain auth etc are not required.

Any clarification on this would appreciated.

That's why its the HOME edition.

You may want to look at Pro.

You may also want to think about a setting up a domain (Win2k). 25 boxes in a peer to peer set-up sounds like trouble to me.
