Just hook up the 2 stereo cables to the input on ur audio system. The Wii has Dolby Pro-Logic II not a digital source. Your receiver should either decode it automatically from the analogue stereo input or you may have to manual set it to decode Pro-Logic II when you have the Wii on as I must do so just set your receiver to Pro-Logic II and it should work.
Yeah, thats pretty much the method but you'll be surprised what PLII can do. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of RE4 (great game, nice bonuses for the wii, and a great display of PLII can do)
Yeah, its not really surround sound, but it works pretty well. My receiver doesnt have the inputs to take it though (its a Logitech system), so I am stuck with TV audio.
my system only has a single green audio input. I have a cable that allows you to hook both L and R channels into it, then streams them down to a single green cable output. If I use that to plug into my system, will that still have the Pro-Logic II capability?

Yeah, it really is. I'll grant you that some of the DPL info gets scrambled in TV broadcasts. I'll even grant you that the PS2 didn't really have the HP to do DPL properly. But the Wii creates stunning surround sound fields in games that are programed to properly do it, IE Resident Evil 4.
The formulas are relatively straightforward and detailed on the Wikipedia page. I think when you look at them, it's easy to understand how the Wii is able to create a surround sound stream over stereo that is nearly as good as DD5.1.
