Hooking computer sub to Car stereo

Hey

I have a small tiny sub from a Logitech Z340 speaker set....wondering if its possible to hook up to a car stereo...I am currently running 2 6 1/2's off My Clarion deck and I have 2 10' subs and tweeters running off a 320 Watt Kenwood amp. (i know its not the biggest of amps but its all I want)...but anyways this little tiny 25watt RMS sub puts out pretty good bass and was going to put it in my never used back seat.......is it possible??

With the right adapters and connectors, anything's possible

Getting the audio signal to it shouldn't be too hard, but if it's powered, that's where you might start to run into problems

You need to be aware of impedance matching when trying to use your comuter sub in you car. The amp and the sub's impedance must match or you will blow your amp.

With your set-up I'd switch the power with the tweets and Mids and forget about the added 25RMS power for the little sub as I doubt it would help matters any on the bottom range with the 1foot subs running ...The Kenwood Amp can prolly run @ lower Ohms then you have the Subs so just add 1 or 2 or 3 in Series and/or Par...and you'll get 1 big jump/bump.

OK, seriously, why are you doing this? If you say that a 320-watt amp is all you need, then why add more? Two 10" subs should give you more than enough bass. What kind are they? How much power goes to them? How are you running subs and tweets off the same amp? Passive crossover? MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION: What type of box are the two subs in? That will GREATLY affect how much bass they put out.

As for your computer speaker, it should run just fine, assuming that you have 2v outs on the Clarion deck and you get a phono-to-RCA female-to-male converter. If they're 4v they might work, but you'd have to ask someone else that knows more than me. I think some of these people are thinking of the speaker-level outputs from your head unit, but it should run off of your line-level outputs instead.

Regardless, that thing shouldn't even come close to the amount of bass that your 10s put out. Answer my questions above and I'll see what I can do for you.

Two 10" subs should give you more than enough bass.

I agree. You won't hear much of a difference since the 2 10" subs will be drowning out the dinky computer sub. If you didn't already have the 2 subs then it might be worth the trouble to put it in.

If you've got 2x10" thumpers and 320W driving them, what are you attempting to accomplish by taking a 25W 4" Sno-Cone out of your perfectly functional z340s?

haha Its just for fun....I have a ton of bass ......probably too much but what can I say Im a bass freak and I had the little sub sitting around not being used so thought what the hell Ill throw it in the backseat of my car

As for your question they are MTX Thunder Subs in a MTX Box. The subs can handle more power than I am giving them is all I know...I beleive there 400+ watts peak each. I am running the subs @ 4 ohms but my Amp is capable of running them at 2 ohms. I have them wired by RCA's to my Clarion deck, and yes I tried the 6 1/2's on the amp and it sounded bad....mostly cause they need to be replaced...Infinity speakers but there in not great shape.

anyways yeah Im not going to do it, I just wanted to see if its possible is all.

IMO if you want more Bass all around then lower your Ohms to 2 in the Car, if the Box is sealed then Isobaric the Woofs and use the Logi's for a Rear sub with your Puter set-up...:Q

Defintely drop the ohms from your amp down to 2 if your subs are capable of 400 rms! If you want more bass that's the way to get it!

Ditto. Infinities, while they're popular, just don't sound good. I like Boston Acoustics quite a bit, so take a look at those. They sell good component sets.
