By far his largest offense is not being funny. Same with the people trying to bully him.

I'm glad to see all you guys coming to the assistance of people who are getting picked on though! Let's all hope that you display the the same concern when someone who isn't displaying the "right" views is bullied.

I have no doubt that you will, being men of principle and all.

Probably about the same time you stop pretending to be a liberal and are able to call a spade a spade without worrying if your team will disown you.

But I digress,

While it's all fun and games to see a bunch of self righteous phony liberals getting all butt hurt because what they believed to be one of their own refused to praise the Emperor's new clothes and pointed out his stark nakedness there is something greater here,

This could have been a conservative institution and the same would apply,

What this guy did was refuse to conform to the group think mentality and tow the line that he is expected to do so without question and that is what angered the establishment,

Most of today's colleges are corporate (big money) influenced centers, that try to brainwash students into the group think do as your told mentality that will follow them the rest of their lives.

  1. Your boss tells you to sign off on that $450,000 mortgage for the guy making $30,000 a year
  2. You are told to change the results of your findings in the report in order to make it more palatable for upper management.
  3. You are told to sign off on the audit that was never done.
  4. Keep your mouth shut or else you aren't a teamplayer, etc., etc.
And if you don't do what you are expected to do (and I don't mean doing your job) and make waves, goodbye promotion and start looking for a new job.

Are you always a contrarian just out of habit?
He's so used to trying to spin everything, he does it pretty much on autopilot and actually thinks no one notices when the attempts are as lame as here.

"Shit- I can't yell at conservatives like I was all pumped to do because liberals are behind this... Ohhhh wait. I know! I'll just spin this into being about conservatives and rage away...! No one will notice how absurd that is!"

I think what those people did to him is shitty and childish, as is all bullying.

I also happen to think that what he wrote was pretty stupid.

Finally, I find it funny that conservatives clearly only call out this sort of behavior when it suits them or is against people who are expressing views they agree with.

it's not bullying if it's feminism.

Not in the same sense. If you and the rest support what he wrote then these "conservatives" are right about you so-called "liberals."

Sorry, not a "liberal", so-called or otherwise.

FWIW, in this particular situation both the 'cry me a river' "victim" and the twits who 'defaced his door' are idiots and none of them deserve to have the least bit of attention paid to them. How this was even considered to be worthy of a news story boggles the mind.

Actually it is pretty funny if you aren't a humorless dick. To get an idea of how it reads to people not afflicted with HDS, imagine Dick Cheney falling down a flight of stairs.

And I said that where?

This particular 'conservative' is not worth a news story. This particular 'conservative' is not a victim. This particular 'conservative' is a whiny little kid just like the whiny little, 'liberals' (we guess) who "vandalized" his door

Vandalism was admittedly hyperbolic, though I thought the eggs were uncooked and potentially damaging to the wood (are they?). What's perhaps newsworthy is him being asked to apologize and being fired, being told that he was a threat, by morons. How the fuck was the rosetta shirt shit newsworthy? The newsworthiness isn't relevant to the question of whether or not he's being victimized, or whether "not being funny" is worse than harassing someone or making an annoying mess in front of someone's room.

blah, blah, blah. Young 'conservative' sets out to cause a reaction so he can claim the mantle of victimhood. Guess he's succeeding with at least a few people.

You guys enjoy that victimhood while the rest of us get along with living our lives.

.

Yeah, people not so blinded by political correctness idiocy into denying the simple fact that he was harassed, asked to apologize (absurd) and then fired because he didn't. That must be the problem here. Can't acknowledge that he's a victim because he wrote something that makes fun of stupid (typically) liberal sensitivities. I mostly just find it interesting and comical how the conservatives around here who are normally so stupid themselves can have something over the normally more reasonable people.

That must be the problem here. Can't acknowledge that he's a victim because he wrote something that makes fun of stupid (typically) liberal sensitivities. I don't care either way. Just find it interesting how the conservatives around here who are normally so stupid themselves can have something over the normally more reasonable people.

He wrote a stupid article for a college newspaper knowing full well (unless he's even dumber than he presents himself) it would draw a particular reaction. He accomplished what he set out to do which was to set off a stink bomb in class and then claim martyrdom when the usual idiots reacted to the smell.

You want to hold this up as an example of liberal oppression feel free to do so. It doesn't reflect well on you though.

You mean because many here are so blinded by political correctness that they deny the simple fact that he was harassed, asked to apologize (absurd) and then unfairly fired because he didn't?

College guy trying to martyr himself sort of succeeds. Congratulations.

There are some puzzling inconsistencies here.
The vandalettes wear hoodies to conceal their identities but change into the hoods in front of the lift camera.
They leave chewed gum on the victim's door, containing plenty of guilt-proving DNA.
What sort of university is this?
Don't they watch CSI?

Or the guy is a wannabe James O'Keefe and it's a setup planned with the intelligence, finesse and subtlety that O'Keefe is known for?

let me replace some words for you

"She wore some slutty clothes for a college party knowing full well (unless she's even dumber than she presents herself) it would draw a particular reaction"

It was news right up until it was discovered that the bullies were libs.

Just like the various cases of mass shootings, the moment that it's obvious that the perp wasn't a white rage filled teabagger fascist pig, they turn the main spotlight off of the perp and start beating the guns are evil drum.

This typical liberal terrorism. How is this any different from burning a cross on the front lawn?

If you enjoy it I'm happy for you! It seems that millions of people enjoy Adam Sandler's movies despite the fact that they are shitty as well, so there's no accounting for taste. (exceptions for Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, and The Waterboy of course)

Bullying someone for expressing a contrary opinion is immature and wrong, and firing him for it is even worse. I will say that he probably should have been fired, but that's for being a shitty and unfunny writer.
