Hoobastank

"Crawling in the Dark" is such a catchy tune, though, I really like it.

I'll agree they do sound similar to a lot of newer bands... Jimmy Eat World for example.

I'll have to listen to more of their stuff for an accurate opinion.

Never heard of 'em, and I would remember such a weird name!
Are they good (=better than most of the other new groups that are basically the same and play more or less the same crappy music)?

j00r b00t st4nk!

😛

Egrimm , like i said, their only single is pretty good, although it does sort of sound the same as all the other new rock out there.

I'll have to hear more to make a real opinion.

ChineseSkaterNoRice, just shut up.

i think jimmy eat world has been around long enough taht they are no longer a new band....also hoobastank is the stupidest name for a band i have ever heard........i read that hoobastank used to be a ska band too...hahahhahaha

I'm glad they're getting more recognized! I remember my sister writing to them and they would send her their full album CDs. They've been around just not as popular as others.

Yeah...ChineseSkaterNoRice shut up! 😛 <-------------NEFFER

great band.

i think someone kept saying it while they were rehearsing something or other i forgot, but they told everyone when they were on TRL.

Definition of the band's talent.

Haha, hoobastank is definitely a good band, and I heard from someone who's enthralled with the band before they ever had a radio hit that "Who's Butt Stank" was the phrase from which they derived their name.

Spooner Temper, temper I was just putting in my $.02 so don't be an @$$

editHeheh, I looked it up, my bad, there's some interesting threads hereAll your meanings here

word.. thats the same thing that was said on my local radio show (102.1 the edge in Dallas, TX)

<< Woah woah here, Hoobastank sounds NOTHING like Jimmy Eat World! Where did that come from?!!? >>

My thoughs exactly.

Hoobastank is one of the band members middle names. Also, just because they were on TRL doesn't mean they are some horrible god awful over produced band playing popular music, it just means they have a large fanbase. If there is one band they sound similar to, it is Incubus because they come from the same part of California and are around the same age, thus went through a lot of the same living conditions, influences, etc.

In fact, they are touring with Incubus and I have tickets to see them on May 7th 😀.

Dude, Jimmy Eat World has been around a long time. They've put out 4 full length albums, countless EPs and 7" splits. They were signed to Capital for a while in the later 90's, but were dropped after two albums (their two best albums, by the way). They put out a B-sides comp (I think on Big Wheel Recreational), and another EP, then got signed to Dreamworks, sold out, and cut "Bleed American" (their worst album ever). Just cause they only just recently sold out enough to get on MTV doesn't mean they're a new band. (Although I guess you could say they're a different band these days.)
