Another thread got me thinkin about this...

So give a shout out if somebody on the Networking Forum has helped you, either directly or indirectly (maybe you read something while lurking). If you remember the member, please mention who it was.

I'll start it off by saying a BIG thanks to:

spidey07
ScottMac
Garion
L3Guy
JackMDS
several others I'm blankin on right now

You folks teach me something new every time you post!

Honk!

spidey07
ScottMac
Garion
L3Guy
JackMDS
TallGeese

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't learn something new here.

Thanks a bunch guys.

Many of the above has helped but special thanks go to Scottmac and Spidey07 who have gone far and away above the status quo.

HONK 😉

I'm sure the networking forum would help me if I didnt spend countless hours trying to figure stuff out on my own.

Honk to anybody that's helped!

Just beware of that jerk spidey, he'll swear its the cable everytime.

Sure wish you guys could help me solve my problem though - I need to have single sign-on for all remote access (dial, vpn, dial-vpn), all applications, all OSes, one single directory to manage it all. Oh and secure-ID keyfobs need to be used for one-time passcodes for this single sign-on directory.

get crackin' boys!

Jackmds has been the most helpful for the topics I am interested in. His FAQs are very helpful -- the number of messages on the boards would be cut in half if everybody just read them first. Plus, Jack always has lots of other good links -- might be nice to gather all of them into a FAQ sometime.

Lots of other people have chipped in during moments of need too. I find posts from the names mentioned above quite educational even when they don't directly affect me. Home networking is just kind of a hobby for me but it is clear we have some real pros here. So, thanks to everyone. RW

I'd honk if I could find my honker 😉

A long long time ago I got help, and ever since then I've been learning and figuring out stuff for myself, but if I never would have gotten that help to begin with, I don't know where my knowledge would be at right now...

Thanks guys 🙂

I just re-examined my reply and felt i had to say a bit more. I surely did not mean to leave anyone out and am very thankful for all of those very helpful individuals that make this my favourit AT forum. It is simply the two mentioned above have been most instrumental in this, but are certainly not the sole factors.

A very large HONK......this is a great place to learn.

a total network newbe a year ago and now I'm High Lord Admin over my own 10 rig network. damm I feel powerful

thanks ALL

Oh yeah, definitely learned a lot from the networking forum. Quite a bit more interesting than hitting the book, some situations just don't come up in there. This place is priceless, I'll be here for many years to come. Hopefully I can contribute a bit to the place, instead of taking taking taking and asking so many questions!

Plucky

Thanks, Ive been lurking in this forum more than posting lately.

Spidey07, TallGeese, ScottMac, Garion, L3Guy, and JackMDS (hopefully Im not forgetting anyone since Ive let plenty of other posters jog my memory 😉) have all provided hours of entertainment and education, even if most of the topics go way over my head! Definitely one of the reasons I stick around. 😀

Several people have help me here. No names, I don't want to leave anyone out. I have learned something everyday I have read the network forum.

Big thanks to all.😀

<Ahem> HONK.

n0cmonkey, spidey07, ScottMac, Garion, JackMDS, and especially TallGeese, on a Sunday afternoon, no less.

A very real learning experience, and a pleasant one at that.

Thanks to all.

While we're at it, if you guys don't mind, would the regular guys mentioned in here please give us a brief description of your career background? Just curious, thx.
