It is true. So many site with more news.

There's been rumor saying that he is gay and also rumors that he's been having relationship problems.

I loved the movie A Better Tomorrow.

RIP

Aww...

I just called my mommy and she's all upset. Says his movies and songs were so good.

And he did admit to being gay...she says he did. Maybe he killed himself b/c his boyfriend left him? That could be what he meant by "affairs of the heart".

So sad... 🙁

Sad.... I actually like his movies since young.
he and his song was actually more famous among older audience like my mum, too.
"A better tomorrow" is no doubt a John Woo classic and a milestone in HK movie. His other movie like something called Ghost Story and its sequel is pretty good too.

Ouch, that sucks...I probably know his music and movies, but I just can't remember his face right now...from the sound of the articles, maybe some of those homosexuality rumors were a bit too close to home?

I'm not saying it's wrong, but wonder why he committed suicide...

bah.

I heard he might have been gay but afraid to come out of the closet..maybe this relates to the 'troubling relationship' mentioned in the suicide note?? I dunno...don't keep up with Asian cinema much...

he has been openly gay since 97. my dad just told me that depression was the motive for this suicide.

I remember him best in Chinese Ghost story and Ghost story 2... Co-starring Joey Wong Jo Yin...

In her late teens she was easily the most beautiful girl I've even seen...

Pretty sad to hear about Leslie though...

Yeah, I used to think so too. Funny that I am not the only one.....
Joey Wong in her ealier age was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. That impression still has not changed since then even tho she wasn't her anymore...

my parents were really shocked about this. hes really famous over in asia. some people say its possible because of problems because he was homosexual or something.

Anyone ever see 'Once A Thief' with him and Chow Yun Fat? Now that was a great movie.

Oh the one which starred Chow Yun-Fat, Leslie Cheung, and Cherie Chung and about trio of orphans who have grown to become art thieves?

Yeah that was good but not as intriguing as A better tomorrow. A better tomorrow portray more of the man's feeling and willingness to sacrifice for buddy.

I wasn't putting it up against 'A Better Tomorrow' (great movie also). I mentioned 'Once A Thief' since it wasn't talked about yet.

He was a great actor and it's sad to see him go like that.
