Honeymoon revised

Parents are giving me $10k to spend how I like for the wedding. Mind you that my fiancee's parents are taking care of the rest (reception, cake, flowers, etc.). My 10k goes toward honeymoon, rehearsal dinner, limos, photography, videography.

So I revised our honeymoon to fit within the bounds of our budget.

Saturday - Get married - Limo to Orlando - Bed and Breakfast
Sunday - Go to Walt Disney for the day - Bed and Breakfast at night
Monday - Check out, plane ride to Munich Germany Spend night there This may overlap into Tuesday due to 12-15hour plane ride.
Tuesday - Early Early morning to see the Neuschwanstein
Fly to Venice that night.
Wednesday - Tuesday - Venice, museums, islands, attractions, bum around, wine and good food.
Tuesday - Leave Venice for Orlando

And done.

I'd skip the videographer and have a friend or relative tape it for you. Does anybody actually watch their wedding video more than once? We haven't.

How much did you blow on photographer? We are in the midst of booking for $1500. Includes proof book, about 25 large prints, engagement photo session, 8 hours, 2 photographers.

Videographer is going to be $500 and raw footage no editing.

$3000 on the photographer, proofs + digital files on DVD and the rights to reprint them ourselves, 6 hours, one photographer. But he was really good. 😉 Reprint rights have saved us a ton of money. I just set up a couple of video cameras on tripods for the ceremony and had a family member walk around with one for the reception.

We look at our wedding photos a lot and have some hanging up in the house. The video... we looked at it after our honeymoon, but that's about it.

Just my opinion. 🙂

did you check with your future wife about this revised honeymoon itinerary? looks like your plan has a lot of walking around, long flight ride, etc, and her idea of a honeymoon might be just vegging in a hotel room/making babies 24/7...tremember, there is no I in a marriage. 😉

Yep, She has been dying to go to Venice and I think it is a perfect time and mood for it.

My wife and I looooooooooooooooooooooved Rome for the Honeymoon. We stayed in a nice tiny little place which was close to everything, and took the subway everywhere. Gelato for the win. Got fresh hand made pasta a couple different places. Don't get pizza, it's nasty. The calzones are incredible. Most of the stands have pretty sick food, stick to the sit down places and definitely ask locals who don't have financial motives where to get good food (the hotel usually partners with restaurants, so be careful there, you might end up with a mouthful of expensive nasty food).

My wife and I HATED rome for our honeymoon. Venice on the other hand was amazing. Florence, Sorrento and Milan were definitely highlights too.

Damn sounds more like a non-stop vacation than a honeymoon.

I'll be on my honeymoon starting next Monday for two weeks.

Life isn't about money alone. I think that a trip like that would be something never to be forgotten, which is worth much more to me than $10,000, especially on my death bed.

EDIT: But just a week and you were able to spend $10,000? Not enough bargain hunting. 😛

No, No, the honeymoon itself rings up in the low 4k. We are cutting it back from this:

Venice(3day)->Paris(4day)->Vienna(3day)->The castle in Munich(Neuschwanstein)(2day)

Now it is this
Neuschwanstein(2day)->Venice(6day)
So we can hopefully meet the downpayment on a house.

Heh, our honeymoon is pretty straightforward:

Fly to Puerta Vallarta, stay at all-inclusive hotel
Eat, drink, relax, maybe snorkel
Return home 5 days later
