MTV used to play music videos too. Funny how these TV channels change so much but I get it, cheaper production, higher TV ratings = higher ad revenue & profit.

On History 2, I enjoyed watching a few shows on The Universe, Modern Marvels, or Ancient Aliens but I also fell asleep while watching those shows as well, something that never happened to me while watching Pawn Stars.

As for TLC, I tried watching Honey Boo Boo, Sister Wives, Amish in New York or whatever and I can't because it's just terrible.

Giving someone a DVD of Season One of Honey Boo Boo would certainly make a great gag gift for the upcoming Christmas season.

Someone tried to tell me to watch Honey Boo Boo so I would feel better about myself. I gave them a weird look, and said, "I don't need a show to make myself feel better." o_O

No, it isn't mostly about money; it is TOTALLY about money.

Apparently TLC only pays them 1/10 what they pay their other reality stars. It's still $2000 to $4000 per episode.

I was bored at work and watched all the clips with my partner. Had a great laugh just because it's so fucking stupid. Reminds me of Trailer Park Boys.

Love that show! To bad my cable company makes me pay extra for that channel. Torrents ftw

Yeah, I had to pay extra so I could get the Velocity Channel but as long as Wheeler Dealers is playing, Im happy.

It's way more than $4k. Mama said so in an TMZ post.

The fat one looks like Mimi from the Drew Carey show. Which one is the fat one? Exactly.

I had someone tell me to watch a video on youtube of this show claiming it was so hilarious I would be crying.

I cried alright.

"Some" of the new shows are OK, "Shipping wars" is decent, "Ricks restorations" and "Counting cars" are OK too. Good point by some though WTF do any of these have to do with history?. They must have given up on other good shows like "Dogfights" because it's cheap to produce reality TV...

Love Counting Cars but I have a hard time believing he chases all those people down on the road and buys their rides right off the street like he does.

I think they should offer the family free trips and film that. That would make very interesting TV.
Now where was that recent Ebola outbreak again?

Storage wars - staged
Undercover boss - staged
All the ghost hunters shows - staged
restaurant takeover - staged (hire actors to portray employees)

Those are the only ones I've seen. Which reality shows are actually 100% legit and not staged? I'd like to know.

Depends on your definition of staged.

Shows like the Amazing Race, or Survivor in which people compete, is not staged for the most part. Now yes, as they introduce the people, or if someone was to trip and fall while walking to the tribal council or w/e, they may "reshoot" this.

But the peoples attitudes toward each other is real. The outcome of the challenges are real, and the people who vote each other off is real and not set-up. Even living in the conditions are real as has been seen with multiple days of downpour and people breaking down emotionally from it.

So it is as real as a show like this can get, but there will be a few things in which will be "re-shot" because of a small issue that I beleive doesn't invalidate the validity of the shows "realness"

Jersey shore. NOW THAT is a huge set-up. I can't believe it took what? 2-3 seasons for people to realize that was all staged via evidence it was.
