gas it to straighten it out when you fishtail ? Hmm... we all know that doesn't work on snow... does it usually work on dry pavement ?

It upsets me to see people disrespect such beautiful cars in this way. I would cherish the chance to have an S2000 and would certainly drive nice and slow on the edge of a cliff. He's joking about it, pretty sad.

my SUV is RWD when it's not in 4... and it for sure doesn't work like that in snow (when I'm having some fun)... I wouldn't ever think of attempting to fishtail an SUV on dry land. ;) Thinking it through though, I suppose gassing it is the only way to get it to go the other way again...

You should try it sometime, it's fun. ;) Sadly, I'm in a Civic now. :(

Maybe if he'd steered the other way and tried to counter the oversteer, he might have saved it; but from reading the threads linked, it sounds like he threw himself into a situation that needed a lot more road to recover from.

That post should go down in message board posting history. Perfect spelling, grammar, a bit of humor, some intelligence. Even pictures to boot!

2 reasons.

1. He's alive and well.
2. Probably has full ins. coverage.

Yeah, bull f*cking sh*t. A sports car that couldn't hold a turn while he was doing speed limit? I need to go at least 2X the speed limit in order for my rear tires to start slipping. He was gunning it, no doubt about it.

Does anybody have any idea how conservative those speed limits are? We have a pretty tight turn off the highway exit, where I work. The posted limit (yellow sign) is 25 mph. I've safely done 50 on that turn. I can probably hit 60 before I will even notice my rear end fishtailing.

That being said, I'm not insensetive jerk and I'm glad he's alive. But he shouldn't be bitching at the cop for acting suspicious. In fact, he's lucky the cop didn't give him a ticket.
