Nice colour! Good luck not getting a speeding ticket in that thing.

I think this is good for Honda Civic fans.

You can never make people happy.

Was just watching a Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee episode where Jerry and Jimmy Fallon mention they miss cars in the '60s that were of colorful colors.

Damned if you do.

Btw, totally looking forward to the Type-R but not if its $35k + or something ridiculous.

Yup, when I can get a Focus RS, Golf R, and STI this car serves no purpose except to the fanbois

The Civic Type-R coming to America doesn't even have the same 2.0L turbo motor as the one sold in the rest of the world.

We get the smaller 1.5L turbo inline 4. Even if they get 150 hp/L out of it, that's still only 225hp, which is not much compared to the likes of the Focus RS.

Considering the Civic Si already starts at 23k, this thing will probably cost close to 30k.

Meh, not impressed.

1.5L turbo and not the 2.0L, 300 hp turbo-4 in the European version?

So, Honda finally brings back the "Type-R" name to the US, and they immediately neuter the engine for the US market?

source?

I tend to agree. I wouldn't drive the green one myself, but give me anything other than the endless procession of boring black, white, and grey that currently plagues our streets. I feel like I'm living in Pleasantville every time that I drive anywhere.

I like this if only for the reason that a Honda dealer is the absolute best dealer in my area, and now they'll have an interesting car to sell me. That, and the closest Mazda dealer is an hour away...

But I'm restraining my enthusiasm until pricing is announced.

And no, it's not going to be competing against the RS and STI, but rather the GTI/(defunct)MS3/Focus ST and other FWD hot-hatch type cars.

Honda needs some kind of financial crisis before it bring back some excitement......same for Toyota actually.

They are doing too well for them to change or do anything different. Why should they? they are successful.

That civic looks horrible, I'm sorry. They have managed to ruin every single one of their cars.

I think it's very unlikely they'd put a smaller engine in the car where people expect a bigger one

Not to mention that this car has to compete with the likes of the Ford Focus ST, Subaru Impreza WRX, and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in the US. Those cars are pushing 250+ HP themselves.
