gsr's themselves have what.....170hp? so swap it into a heavier body (i think).....and it should be slightly slower. thus....nothing better than 15's....16's even. the new Si can just barely get 14.991 or something stock....and thats 197hp and much better gearing....and LSD...and lighter....and overall better. so i dunno

you have to use a hatchback chassis for it to be any faster than a stock GSR cause of weight as mentioned.

but if you're going to bother at all, get a k series motor, a hatch with even a basically stock 2.4L accord motor will run high 13s, thanks to much more torque than 1.8L. Visit k20a.org if you're serious.

Doable. What year Civic?

I believe it is a 97 coupe. Manual

No other mods. Just GSR engine.

97 coupe will have a D-series in it right now; so you can't just swap in a longblock, you need a complete changeover; tranny, linkage, axles etc..

The 97 coupe (s) actually weigh less than a GSR
Coupe Weights
GSR Weight

not by much but it still does.

GSR is a 15.5 sec car.. so i'm guessing B18C1 swapped into a civic would be around the same; you could probably get it down into the high 13's with i/h/e, mildly tuned ecu, better ignition, and try to get the coupe weight below 2200lbs. Or you can accomplish the same thing or better by just boosting the D, will cost you almost the same.. if not cheaper!

it would be cheaper to sell your civic and buy a real GSR, and you'd end up with a better car that would retain its value better. you will have a difficult time selling a riced civic to anyone over the age of 16.

dyno

that's k20a vs ITR, similarly modded with boltons and such

and the two motors weigh the same;

actually s2000 = f20c similar to the k20 though.. but it definitly makes more power!

Swapping engines just seems wrong to me....it's like swapping hearts with someone. I like my own, thank you very much.

if I had the time and money, I'd definately take a 4.6 from a current gen mustang GT and put it in my town car instead of the low output 4.6 it has now. 300 > 210. This way I will feel in no way inferior to the similiar year Caddy's and their 275 HP Northstar motors, even if it drives the front wheels and leaks oil faster than you can pour it back in. . . .

I think it'd be fun. Wouldn't make my car fast, not by a long shot, but it would be more fun to drive.

Maybe a 4.6 from an older cobra would be easier to find for cheap.
