Honda cars = Dell computers. ;)

seriously tho, it is all so much hype.

can you honestly tell me that dell PC's are that much better than Gateways, Compaqs, HP's or IBM's?

6 of one, half a dozen of the other.

it is more hype than reality.

that's Honda, more hype than reality.

sure it might be a little better, and yes, it's Resale value is DEFINITELY better (but that's due also as much to the hype as anything else).

Toyota's OTOH seem to be more quality than hype.

Hamburgers are helicopters.
ABC is Nike.
Coconuts are tricycles.
Citibank is the NFL.

I can do it too...WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

psssh, you're an admitted Japanese hater 😛

All I can say is, in 60,000 miles my Honda hasn't needed anything more than oil+filter changes, two air filters and some windshield washer fluid.

yeah im sure honda would sell as much cars as they do now if they're as reliable as kia's, and AFAIK, dell really made their name in the days of packard bell's, acer's and the like. micron came close in reliability but was nowhere as affordable as dell.

it's also about looks. the past generations of civic's/accord's look 10 times better than the corolla/camry (base model)

You can put a Type 'R' sticker on a Dell, and it will go faster!
All kidding aside, I have 3 Dell servers and 3 workstations that have run reliably for years. I can't say the same for our Gateway systems.

Most people I know with dell have had lots problems.

You're one of the few who hasn't.

if they all used the same engine and just had to design a shell and nothing else sure😛 but its not that way. hondas new civic just smears the competition for instance.

This is probably one of the dumbest threads today.

Seconded.
PG, you love making these flamebait Honda threads, huh? 😉

why not, i'm bored tonite. got no work to do. waiting on the weekend. kids aren't in bed yet. 😉

for the record. i've been following honda vs mazda (my own little research) for about 14 yrs. it's always been interesting to me that two car companies that started off similarly ended up so different.

mb it was because honda had more money backing them.

but the early mazdas were MUCH better than the early hondas, shoot in the late 70's honda couldn't even make a real automatic transmission.

Mazda has always made better looking, better engineered cars but for some reason, never had the marketing success that honda has had.

😉

dell vs northgate for example.

dells are pretty bad unless you buy their top of the line xps systems. their notbooks are still ok but for the most part, dell has ovrheating issues and power issues. Many dell laptops and desktops have badly vented cases. couple that with a propreitary motherboard design so you can never change the case and you are screwed. Tech support for non xps users has gone downhhill since the days on 1998-2002 when it was legendary. It's pretty bad now. My friend has a top of the line xps with horrible power issues that force it to reboot every 45minutes when running overly demanding apps.

also the pricei s pretty bad unless you get in on a sale. If it's not on sale, it's not worth buying the overpriced pos. Xps are overpriced. It's about 2x as expensive as building it yourself.

I have an inspiron 8600 and it overheats badly. Expecially if you leave it on with the lid close because there seems to be zero ventalation when you close the lid. I also am on my 4th power cord from dell, and the first one came broken. This is just the part of my issue with my 8600.

I have thousands of Dells that work great. The biggest problem was a couple GX270s with leaky caps on the mobos.

Another crapy thing with dell notebooks is their cases are made of cheap plastic. They need to use metal.
Something tells me that if they used metal casings on their laptops, you wouldn't own one.

I haven't had anything wrong with my taurus so far... 72,000 miles. Change the brakes, add gas, change the oil, fill up fluids.... is pretty much it... other than getting new tires once. Belts need to be replaced soon.

Not saying all fords are even close to this.
