Honda capitalizes on its Civic ricer heritage in new ad.

Sorry if it's a repost but I did a search...

I saw a new Honda ad for the Civic Si.

It's some average guy with a Civic Si playing classical music driving one direction and then some rap-listenin' Asian Civic ricer driving the other direction towards him. All that happens is the ricer waves to other guy and keeps on going. Subtle ad but funny nonetheless.

If they wanted the commercial to really be realistic, the ricer would have made a U-Turn and done a ricer fly-by his Beethoven listening ass and then flashed his hazards.

No, if they wanted it to be realistic he would have met up with a ferrari or something down the road and would have gotten smoked, only after destroying the car making his years of working at Taco Bell a waste.

That's mean..and true🙂

I think the advertising angle of forming communities with cars (ie car clubs etc) is a good idea..but there are too many Civics on the road for that!!

Before the WRX craze, Impreza owners who were complete strangers would give each other thumbs up on the road, help each other out etc... Even now I thumbs up any Spec V drivers I see on the road.

Well, having been a long time subie owner, it actually was a lot like a community before the WRX, with waves and hellos, etc)....its actually the WRX that ruined any sense of community, since so many younger, less mature people were driving them. I've noticed this especially on the Subaru boards like Nasioc, edmunds, etc. where people have indicated as Subaru became more mainsteam...the sense of community dissolved.

BWAHAHAH OMG SO TRUE. Every time I pass the Taco Bell there's always the same Accord with dual coffee cans on it.
