Honda Accord Speakers

Im looking to spend ~$200 @ bestbuy on new speakers for my 1994 Honda Accord LX Sedan. my poor Polk EXs seem to be dying.

I have an Awia CDC-MP3 head unit with no Amp.

whats the best use of my money at bestbuy

(i know, i know my head unit sucks, but at the time it was the only one that could play MP3s in dash aside from a $700 kenwood model.)

Your best bet is to buy online, and install youself. Installing speakers isnt' rocket science.

oh, no i def plan on installing my self. i got the head unit from crutchfield and installed it with beautiful wiring, and heat shrink tubing and everything... but the money has to be spent at best buy this time

i know this isnt the best forum for this, but its the one i frequent the most, any one know a better place to ask this.

Yes, please buy the speakers yourself and install them yourself. I think Best Buy charges something like $69.99 per pair to install speakers. The rear deck speakers are cake to install, but the front door panel ones take a little more doing, as you have to take off the inside door panel. (although the 94 might be different, because on my 92 Civic, I didn't have to, but on my 97 Accord, I did)

Also, I would buy the speakers online as well. Get some Clearance ones from Crutchfield.com. (last year's models)

1. Take a CD you know well to Best Buy, pop it in a similar-range CD receiver, listen to the speakers in your price range.
2. ????
3. Profit

UNDERPANTS!

no i know, in normal situations I would order from crutchfield or something, but basically what it comes down to, is at best buy i will get them at cost, and it has to be soon.
Ive actually installed speakers in this car before 6.5" polk EX up front, 6x9" polk EX 3-way in back (had to create a mounting plate for those actually) so im not worried about the install.

for $200 you could get yourself a decent set of pioneer speakers. Better than your average, but not exactly top of the line.

Sorry to hijack your thread..just looking for a little feedback..

I was thinking of upgrading the speakers in my 1996 Toyota Tacoma ext cab.I was going to spend about $100 for the headunit (doesn't need to be able to play mp3 cds), and maybe $100 for the front two speakers...any ideas? Things to watch out for/avoid?

yeah, id really like infinity reference, or polks but best buy doesnt carry em.

and btw, i dont plan to SPEND $200, thats just the retail cost at best buy

any advice as to a good forum to take this to?

dude just listen to the speakers, I have no brand loyalty when it comes to car audio, whatever sounds best is all that matters to most people anyways!
