Accord wasn't even eligible.

interesting, since even the wiz-bang new camry V6 SE is slower than the 5-year-old Accord V6 MT. and you can't get the camry with a manual and the V6. oh yes, you can get a manual, but only if you like taking nearly 9 seconds to get to 60 MPH thanks to the 4-banger.

i'm not sure extra plastic and another brainless slushbox scream "sport" to me... NO WAIT, it DOES. i'm thinking of another vehicle that did the same thing... ah yes: the Dodge Caravan Sport. now THERE's a sporty car. plastic body trim, sport badge, column-mount slushbox... man, that thing was the REAL DEAL. and this camry's JUST like it. better buy one now that the kids are in college, so we can have some fun... almost as much fun as in the Caravan!

and since they don't mention the accord anywhere in the article, i'd hardly say it wasn't "eligible." more like "edmunds was using the test mule when we pulled our comparo together and we didn't want to admit it or reschedule... and toyota had a lot of ads that month."

seriously, dude. motor trend. motor trend, dude.

Car and Driver describes the Camry SE with such phrases as: "The Camry is the anti-sport sedan, so despite the SE badge, this refined family car can't be persuaded to play." "A better-looking transport module." "As it is now, with that electronic nanny in the virtual back seat, we?ll just have to keep our dance card clear for a mid-size sedan that will match our moves. Delayed gratification is one thing, but that stability control wants complete abstinence. Even masochists don?t enjoy that." "The car?s stability-and-traction-control system steps in at the slightest hint of tire scrub and slows everything down. It won?t tolerate an aggressive launch, and if you snap-shift the car into second gear and cop a tiny chirp of wheelspin, it slaps your wrist with a half-second of nothing. And it can?t be switched off."

damn, sounds a like sport-sedan winner to me.

Ok, so as opposed to the "sporty" Accord V6 they have out now? I've owned a 7G Accord for 3 years now, I know everything there is to know about it. Having driven my cousin's new Camry around quite a bit, I think I'm a little bit more qualified to talk about what car is "better".

And my response wasn't to say "The Toyota Camry is the new Subaru Wrx STi"...simply as a rebutal to OS' fanboism. I'm about as big a Honda fanboi as anyone here but there is no decision to be made if you're deciding b/t an 07 Accord and Camry. Simply none.

Also, Accord EX-V6 6MT.

FTW on both counts.

OP should be looking at torque as well as HP. :p

Accord V6 = 244hp @ 6250rpm, 211lb-ft @ 5000rpm
TSX = 205hp @ 7000 rpm, 164lb-ft @ 4500 rpm

We have the 2006 Acura TSX without the NAV..

I can tell you that overall it's a nice car, but I have 1 big complaint..

Very loud on the highways..

Wind noise is loud.. Road noise is worse..
We drove the car from Cincinnati to Chicago during Thanksgiving. It almost drove me nuts, because it was so loud..
I'm sure Accord is quieter..

I am moot about V6, but 4 banger vs 4 banger, I am still all accord.

I hear the road noise is mainly due to the POS tires. More track days for me means faster replacement :D 60,000 Mi is way too long to wait to wear them out.

I have a 2004 Accord V6 with manual (6 speed) transmission. I love the car, leather, 6 cd in dash (no mp3 though), heated seats, power everything.

Plus it's quite quick :) I love the car and my girlfriend calls it the batmobile (black on black).
