if i'm just looking for a meat and dip meal, i have on occasion gotten like a half pound or more of gyro meat, and a tub of hummus, and just dip it in and eat it.
really good.

Thats nice but if you're using garbanzo beans, you're not having hummus. I hope you like your babaganoush though.

Would homus/humus count as good food or bad food? Specially soaked in olive oil (which is good for you right?). I'm curious because I have been eating it every day from the Lebaneese food restaurant downtown where the owner and I are good friends.

I'm not going to call homus either good or bad. It's your personal choicee; you can live whatever lifestyle you want.

Yeah it will put weight on you if you consume more calories than you burn. You need fats in your diet to be healthy and the Omega 3 fats from Olive Oil and Cold Seawater fish like Salmon is the best fats to consume.Originally posted by: uberman

Olive oil is the healthier of the fats, so it still has calories and will put weight on you. It is part of a Mediterranean diet and considered heart healthy.
Mediterranean diet
I'm not a big fan of hummus. I do like it, there are just other things that I like more. I've made my own by tossing cans of garbonza beans in a food processor and adding oil and spices.
You seem to have found a type of hummus you like. What is in it? Maybe I'll give my food processor a spin.
