Homeworld 3

I absolutely adore Homeworld 1.

I didn't like Cataclysm and 2 nearly as much.

The pacing of the first game was pitch perfect and worked with the sort of clunky deliberate control scheme. I loved how many levels were more like puzzles than APM challenges.

Cat and 2 felt more like horror/action movies and the control scheme couldn't keep up for me.

As such, the series has largely lost me, but I am open to a more deliberately paced HW3 but I think we're getting something much more in the vein of HW2 than 1.

Unfortunately after Dawn of War 3 and Company of Heroes 3 it looks like Relic is the anti-Valve and intent on torpedoing it's IPs with a 3rd installment.

Simple is sometimes good. They focused on the core components of an RTS and executed extremely well. It would have been ripe for additional DLC and more maps but I guess they wanted to move on.
For sure. Better to make a simple, tight game that hits the right notes than aim for something grand only to have a game that tries to do everything and fails.

DoK definitely hit the "homeworld, but on land" feel. I really enjoyed the narrative, and damn if the music weren't 100% on point. Absolutely fantastic

DoK is pretty good if you're a big HW fan. Strategy wise it is mostly a hard counter system that gets annoying at times.
