So let's say the executioner waited about 10 minutes or so in this story while they were incapacitated. You are clearly OK with that.

Would you mind someone keeping a robber alive for 1 hour in their home before executing?
2 hours?
1 day?
2 days?

What is your time period limit for when someone could execute another person in their home after they've already disabled that person.

Perhaps if you changed it to *with intent to cause bodily harm and or kill occupents.

Most B&E's are simple property crime. Addicts trying to steal shit to get their next fix. People like that shouldn't get the death penalty for being victims of the war on drugs.

Addicts can be dangerous when they are fiending for their fix and might just kill someone if they happen to be home...you may want to try and assess why someone just broke into your house before shooting their worthless ass but I'm not taking any chances and I'll shoot first and ask questions later.

Rule #2 If you fail to follow Rule #1 you will receive two shots ( I always double tap) to your center mass (most likely you heart) from a .40cal or 9mm respectively.

Do you realize that by doing this, you encourage the killing of anyone in the house? If the burglers are going to get the death penalty anyway, it just makes sense to kill anyone who sees you there.

And it's not like this is a characteristic that hasn't been recognized in the legal system for many years.

And no shit, they sure weren't expecting to get shot or they never would have went in there. That still doesn't give the homeowner the right to execute them when they were no longer a threat to his life or property. Hell, I gotta assume the mess he created with his final shot actually caused more damage to his property.

Which is absolutely acceptable. Hell, in my state you just have to be in the process of breaking into my house to give me the legal right to shoot you.

What you said is perfectly legal and most rational people wouldn't argue with you. However, if they survive said double tap you do not have the right to wait a bit and then decide to execute them even though they are no longer a threat.

I don't know if I'd call him a scumbag, but clearly he needs to serve time, as I've said repeatedly, he went overboard when he executed the girl; although, I can see someone saying they put her out of her misery. Why he didn't call the cops though in all seriousness, I'm not sure. There are strange people out there for sure, will be interesting to see how this is explained in court.

Our "justice system" did a massively good job of failing this guy, especially when he needed it most. Using that as a pro in your argument, no matter how technically right, isn't very strong. When you're in a situation that's not legal, legality is really not something you should always be going by.

BTW, I almost always side with homeowners in B&E shootings. This however turned into cold blooded murder, you just can't slice it any other way and frankly you don't want to. If the gun community, or even a majority of them, stood up and supported this guy you would see a reversal of the looser gun/self defense laws we enjoy in a lot of states real quick.

Even dragging her next to the guy can be easily explained, I don't know why such a big deal is being made of that. For sure he should serve time. Lots of time? Not sure I'd go that far...

Home defense shooting distance is about 10-15 feet or less. Hitting a man sized target during rapid fire at that distance isn't difficult with a little practice, and most of your shots will score hits.

Stick a B-27 silhouette target at 10 feet and practice rapid fire a few times a month. Most of those 17 rounds will score hits at that range.

You should brush up on your legal definitions. The homeowner was charged with 2nd degree murder.

Second degree murder is a murder that is not premeditated or planned in advance. An example would be a bar fight that resulted in death. It wasn't necessarily planned or intentional, oftentimes considered a mistake.

For the average person who doesn't have the trigger time/military training like you do, I would recommend more than two shots before they stop and re-assess the situation.
