Homemade case-ideas?

I am building a computer for a school, but the left side cover is missing in action. I need to make a cover that will last until we find it. This will probably be a couple months because the room it's missing in is a mess. Any help would be appreciated.

I would think thin acrylic would work best, it's "relatively" easy to work with (easier then sheet metal imho) Another thought is the bath enclosure plastic, it's about 1/8" thick, and is fairly easy to work with also. They usually sell it at home improvement stores in 4'x8' (I think) panels. And you could always work with 1/8" laminate wood that's used to put a faux wood finish on table tops etc.

This probably isn't what you want to hear (read) but why not just clean up the room? & in the process find the side cover?

Am I not the only one who wakes up in the morning and steps on a side panel with my bare feet, let out a yelp, quickly hop off of the side panel and hear a crunch beneath my feet to find that I've just cracked the plastic front cover from my case....DOH....who needed that anyway 😛
