NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge and U.S.
Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson will be leaving their posts,
Cable News Network reported Tuesday.
Also, Cable News Network reported Stephen Hadley, currently U.S. President
George W. Bush's deputy national security adviser, will be named national
security adviser. Hadley would replace Condoleezza Rice, who is expected to be
nominated for secretary of state later Tuesday.
CNN, citing unnamed sources, said that Thompson has chosen to stay in the Bush
administration but not necessarily in a cabinet-level position.
Bush is expected to announce Rice's nomination at 12:30 p.m. EST at the White
House, broadcast reports said.
