I believe if we would have had some form of homeland security 911 would have never happened. I guess it took a tragedy of this magnitude to wake us up. When is see footage of that even it still makes me ill even today. If we let our guard down we will be inviting an other terroist attack on our nation.

Agreed.

I am pleased they are doing their job, so STFU!

Big Government FTW!

I wonder when Lowe's is going to start asking for my license when I buy a box of nails or drywall screws.
don't be stupid.

Do you know what a grease fitting is? Engineer's comparison isn't far off the mark.
i know what Engineer is. let's put it that way.

It sounds stupid right now, but it only takes a little propaganda on the part of the government to make people change their beliefs.

If you told people 20 years ago that cameras would be set up all over cities to watch people, they'd think you were stupid and paranoid. But someone succeeded in making the public accept it.

I think the funniest bit of BS was in the presidential election, when the topic of illegal immigrants/terrorism came up.

Someone asked how the border could be secure from terrorists if thousands of illegal immigrants manage to get into the country each year. They asked (I think Kerry) if he knew how many illegals manager to sneak in each year, and his response was, "I don't know the number, but I know that they mean no harm".

What a load of BS. If you don't know who someone is, where someone is, what someone is, and all you know is that someone managed to get past our "security", then how in the hell do you know what their intentions were?

Are the American people that stupid? Apparently so.

Well, apparently I don't know "what Engineer is". But I can't see that it's really relevant. I know what a grease fitting is - I can pick them up at any local hardware or autoparts store. If we are seriously considering the export of something as common and trivial as a grease fitting to be a security threat, then nails and drywall screws can't be far behind. I hope there is more to this story.
