I don't normally repost forwarded emails, but this is both interesting and amusing, and can possibly incite some discussion. Having recently been through the airport on the way to and from Las Vegas, I had the opportunity to experience what passes for airport security these days, and noticed that they do seem to pick people at random to search. Anyway, please read on:

To ensure we Americans never offend anyone - - - - particularly
fanatics intent on killing us - airport screeners will not be allowed to
profile people. They will continue random searches of 80-year-old women,
little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, Secret Service
agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old
Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning former
Governors.


Let's pause a moment and take the following test ...

In 1972 at the Munich Olympics, athletes were kidnapped and
massacred by:

* Hmmm . . . nope, no patterns anywhere to justify profiling.

while i agree with the pattern in your list... there are other terriorst you need to include in your list...

like the shining path from south america....
or the red army in japan
i can list more..but i don't have my notes and i'm too lazy, someone else can...

with that said...
even thou 'profiling' is wrong , perhaps that's the best way to go about this since it seems like the
only terrist group that's targeting us right now are extremist.......

then again... 'profiling' won't work if we get more people like john walker blowing up.... when they

These 2 groups you mention are most definitely terrorists but as far as I know they are not specifically targeting Americans.

Was a lone wacko. There is no way to make anything 100% risk free but the sad fact is that we know the MO and the most likely suspects currently targeting our airliners and they are not pipe bomb kid.

i was not talking about airport profiling, maybe i should have made that clear. i was talking about profiling in general.

Why the hell are people being so PC about this subject? Yes, there are other terrorist groups but I don't see any as problematic as the Islamic fundamentalists that we are now dealing with. Basically if you are Arab, and male and between 17 and 40 you SHOULD get more heavily scrutinized.

I strongly agree. And if they dont like it..then they shouldn't get on an airline period.

I've been wondering that too. I'm not saying ONLY screen male Arabs, but in so far as who gets extra attention, I think they should. Its like when I'm walking down a street at night alone with $200 in my pocket. I pay a lot more attention to the 3 punks drinking their forty than I do to the little old lady on her porch.

Some people just feel left out because they are so generic they fit no profile so they get no attention.

Myself, I fit the FBI profile for many serial killers and workplace shooters. I am wth the "in" crowd baby.
