The SP takes all of about 2 hours to complete,.. not much to it but your normal shoot'em up type of game.

The MP I only got to spend an hour playing last night, but I like it,.. a lot! I was bored with BF:BC2 and absolutley sick and tired of the COD games, so this is a good game to tide me over until BF3 comes out. I haven't seen any other thoughts about this game, so I thought I'd add.

How does the MP compare with BC2 and COD? I haven't heard much good about the game, and it sounds like it was a big flop. If it was cheaper I might pick it up but not if the MP community is too small to sustain itself.

There is a multiplayer demo right now. I played that and it convinced me to buy the game, it's rather fun and it's a good change of pace from CoD.

That's the thing, Kaos was pretty good to great with the multiplayer in their games. They just can't pull of the single-player portion even after bringing in the screenwriter from Apocalypse Now and Red Dawn to create a cohesive plot.

It's not surprising that THQ has shut the studio down and moved support for Homefront and development of the sequel to its Montreal studio.

The concept behind the single player story was the only reason I had been looking forward to Homefront. When it turned out to be less-than-average in execution and incredibly short, I disappointedly decided I'll just wait to rent it whenever my local Redbox starts getting games.

Its very comparable to BC2. Its far from the run and gun close quarters of COD. The only downer for me, is I got my copy from goozex and the MP code was already used. So I can't progress higher then level 5 unless Im willing to fork over 800 microsoft points. And Im not,.. not because the game isn't enjoyable, but Im to the point where Im refusing to pay for extra content that should of been available from day 1 with a game. Making you punch in a code to get all the multiplayer maps is just plain stealing,.. especially when the single player campain took me less then a few hours to complete. The game is not worth $60, but when it gets down to $20 or $30 it would be a good buy.

Exactly.

I talked highly about this game before it's release because it looked like it was doing something different. Then I saw the live demo on Gamespot's stage at last years E3 and was really impressed with the production quality, but the final SP product fell flat. It's too bad because I think it had a lot of potential.

Kind of off subject, but seems to be the same situation with the Red Dawn remake. It was made over a year ago, and still no release date. At first it sounded like it was going to be awesome because I loved Red Dawn. This game (Homefront) had the same premise as the movie remake, but now from what I have read they took the Korean part out and used a made up country.

This. I'm playing this now. It's decent. Not great, but playable. Pretty much a COD rip off IMO...
