Here's the deal, buy this product over at Krex.com for 24.95 and Diamond has a 30 dollar mail in rebate ON THE BOX. So you make 5 bucks off the deal as well. Not the best damn network kit out there, but for nothing, I ain't complaining. Not sure what shipping is though....

Krex is a pretty good company too, as I've bought from them several times. Feel free to correct me if necessary...

only worry: rebate form says "only with purchase from retail store " is a web site a retail store? i'll call the # later when i have a chance to verify.

Good call, not sure on that one, but doesn't appear to be much of a prob really.... post the results when you can please...

This is not FREE. Free means you pay nothing, but you get something. This: you pay something, (cross your fingers and hope you get the rebate back) and you get something.

You should change title to "Free after rebate."

can't see the rebate form.. something wrong with that...or it is just me...
I think it is still a retailer.. if the company is sound and reliable...
if you can download the pdf file, can anybody e-mail me that?

Sorry Big, I was under the assumption that you were smart enough to realize this a nation of capitalism, and that no one hands out free stuff on the web for S#its and giggles....

The fact is that this is free after a good six weeks, and if you've had problems getting your rebates back, I really don't care unless it was a prob with this company in particular...

For $20 just buy that 10MBps one posted earlier, this one is only 1MBps and no rebates to hassle with.

Rebate is here

Dimwit here...is *not* a dimwit (couldn't resist.LOL). In fact the 10mb/s kit at CompGeeks has an "add-on" special...if you buy the first one ---> add-on a *second* for only $17.00. For 4 cards and a hub (your phone wiring) you pay less than $10 buck per node !

Woah... Dude... Putting "after rebate" is standard form here. What BigMacAndFries said is 100% true. Those of us who do deals with rebates are very interested in whether the rebate is valid or whether someone has had previous experience with the rebate company, etc... After all it wouldn't be a deal if the rebate didn't work out. He could have pointed it out a bit nicer but there is no need to jump on him.

BTW some companies do hand out free things on the web - just ask those of us who got 3com webcams (the $100+ models at the time) for free from Digimarc 😉.

edit: Oh yeah, the "after rebate" in the subject is important for the members who don't do rebates at all. Some people have just gotten burned too many times to risk it.

I bought my HomeFree 1MBPS kit from Amazon's auction about a year ago. I also paid $25 incl. s/h. I mailed Diamond's $30 then. Since I didn't have a receipt, I sent the packing slip which didn't show how much I paid. They sent me the rebate so I made $5.
