@ home users vulnerable to hacker attacks and ATT doenst care

well it seems that ATT doesnt really care about people on there @home network.

I am still getting pings for port 80 even after a month of them knowing that the latest virus attacks are launched rom port 80

if your looking to get cable make sure you dont get screwed over by @home

im thinking of switching services due to there inability to stop the attacks.
 
Wish I could switch services because I've had a boat load of other problems with ATT@Home. It's a little tough to do when DSL isn't available in your area and @home is the only cable outfit. Not much choice if you want anything better than dial up in my area.

I'm behind a router and I'm using ZA, so I feel fairly secure. There are a ton of people with this service that have nothing.. Scary..

Yea lets block port 80, thats the solution to idiots running IIS without securing the installation. Port 80 is web traffic moron boy. It's not ATT's fault that there are a lot of idiots out there running web servers without securing the server!

You may not need to worry about @home much longer. They are in deep deep finaical trouble. This was taken from Yahoo Finance:

ExciteAtHome Corp.(Nasdaq:ATHM - news), whose money losing Internet content and access business has close to $1 billion in debt, stunned investors last month when it said it had already burned through most of the $185 million in emergency financing which was supposed to carry it well beyond this year. With a stock at risk of being delisted and no sign of its losses abating, auditors say its future is in doubt.

All broadband connections have that vulnerability. That is why one should have BOTH a router firewall and a software firewall.

 
I wish charter.net was still "vulnerable" to these attacks.
It only affects people running IIS without the patch. Give me a break.
