home recording studio requirements?

My wife is a talented musician but works a corporate job. I think it'll be fun for me and her to record and work on music together, just to keep her musical side alive. She currently has a midi piano but what else would I need? I currently edit video so have a fairly powerful mac and some basic sound gear (a portable samson mixer).

 
that should be about it. i used to use a minidisc recorder for recording and audacity for editing my wife's concerts in college. recordings sounded good enough for her...
