Home networking mystery

Question:
How can I get home network computers to see each other?

Note:
I did everything I could find suggested on the extremely helpful web site, No success.

Info:
Home network has 2 desktops and 2 laptops, all 4 on Windows XP Pro SP3, all fully updated.
DSL modem and D-Link DIR-655 wireless router.
1 desktop is eternet connection, other 3 all wireless connections.

All 4 can ping each other.

All 4 can see internet.

But they can not see each other from within Windows.

On all 4, "Simple file sharing" is disabled.

On all 4, "File sharing" is set to "Share" and Security is set to Allow access for nearly everything.

All 4 have Kaspersky Internet Security v. 8.0.0.506.
I don't find any place in KIS to allow unrestricted access by the private IP or MAC addresses of the other computers on the home network.

When laptops try to connect to desktops they see this:
from Laptops to Desktops

When desktops try to try to connect to laptops they see this:
from Desktops to Laptops

Finally:
Advice apppreciated.

Maybe this can Help.

Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party Firewall instructions.

Thank you for your reply.

Over this weekend I'll try everything you suggest, and will post an update here next week.

Try accessing the admin share:
\\scottcomputer\C$

Also it works best if you have the same username and password setup on each computer.

While debugging turn off all firewalls including your KIS.
