home network

i have 3 computer to network with ethernet
one is running gigabyte lan
and the other two have regular 100 mbps
what do i need
i want to play games with another computer
i think i need a switch
but any other suggestions would be nice

Switch or better yet a router. Routers give ya more "customability" I have a Dlink and I'm fine.

Oh and 10/100 is fine. I use it and have low pings <20
 
Ummm a switch is a hub that allows different speeds, hence the 10/100/1000 moniker.
Get a switch, depending on budget either a 10/100 8 port should only set you back around US$20-30 or an 8 port gigabit around US$70-200..
 
get more ports than you need, as you may need more in the future for more computers, I own an 8port 10baset hub, two routers with inbuilt 4port switches, and for the majority of my network a 24 port 10/100 switching hub(really need to upgrade it to a switch). Looking at getting an 8port 10/100/1000 switch soonish.
