Home Network Help

I'm trying to network two computers at home. One is running Win NT, the other Win 98. Both are set to allow others to view drives. Both are set to the same work group. Still can't see each other. Any one know how to do this?

How do you have the network run? For example, do you have the two computers both plugged into a HUB using straight through RJ45 cable or did you just connect both computers directly with cross-over cable?

First off, make sure you have drives on both machines set to Shared.

Also, you might need to make a user account on the NT machine for the Win98 user, log on as that user and see if its betta.

Also, make sure your IPs are correct and subnet masks are the same

you have to have a login screen that "reconnects connections on login" this way all connections are re-created this should work if everything else is set up right, just go into control panel, network connections, and set the login (if you already have the computer set to bring up the login screen of course ignore this info 😉 )
