Holy crap, I remember that thread. Great progress so far, man you're gonna need a face mask to drive that thing.

You should post this on Supra forums (just stay away from SupraMania.com it's filled with crazy trolls and the owner is off his rocker) they would love to know more about the 1jz setup.

There are numerous auto manufacturers that produce a V12.

Aston Martin 5.9L
Mercedes Benz M275 AMG
Audi Q7 5.9L w/twin turbo
BMW E38 750iL has a 5.4L
Ferrari 456 has a 5.5L
Jaguar XJS has a 5.3
Lamborghini Countach 5.2L
McLaren F1 has a 6.1L

With so many V12's in production, seems like finding one would not be that hard. On Ebay right now there are almost 60 V12 engines for sale from $2000 to $50,000. A project that started well over 4 years would not of had to take this long and costly.

I'd imagine that anybody that starts an adventure such as the one in this post has zero interest in a already in production V12. Seems like it's more for the challenge than the right to say I have a V12.

I think you are missing the point.

The OP is taking 2 amazing engines (2JZGTEs) and combining them to into a unique, and amazing TT setup. That alone is pretty awesome and will create something even better when done. The reward here is having something unique, powerful and customized when complete. Plus a whole lot of fun along the way.

Can you ask your uncle if the 120° bank angle combined with the 6 rod throw crank will result in pairs of cylinders firing simultaneously? Any technical details would be really something to drool over, thanks!

Having been involved in open-wheel racing, the engineering involved is fascinating.
But I must say that the lack of a protective bulkhead behind the seat is alarming 😱 no matter how good the engineering :'(

Had an automotive friend who decided that he wanted to make a spark plug. After two years he finally had a prototype. It popped apart after about 10 minutes of being installed.

Homemade brewing cannot compare to the engineers at the various manufacturing plants with millions of dollars of equipment, research, computer software, etc. In these pictures, I don't even see a tool box, lift, dyno, or anything that a real designing shop should have. In todays world, vehicle knowledge doesn't come from trying to combine two amazing engines, it comes by combining the knowledge of the best engineers and designers which can only be found at the manufacturing or racing level.
