So take out the rice and add dumplins?

The starch will also help thicken the soup. Use homemade chicken stock from a carcass for the ultimate flavor.

there's always room for dumplings!

And what kind of dumplings are we talking here, drop dumplings? Strip? Bread?

I'm partial to bread dumplings, been eating a lot of Czech food lately.

Yes! And I found a great trick when making dumplings: warm the milk/cream in the microwave before adding it to the dry dumpling ingredients. They come out better when the leavening has a chance to start working early, and they cook better when they don't have to hit the hot soup when they're cold.

Mmmm, I haven't made my chicken soup since last winter. I'm jealous.

I say biscuits.

With my dad being Hungarian, I can't fathom dumplings unless they're in Chicken Paprikash.

Since you already have rice, go with the biscuits :) If you didn't have rice, dumplings definitely.

What about the zillions of other Hungarian dishes with dumplings?
