Hey guys, I replaced one of my exterior doors on my house. Went really well and works great, but I'm having trouble tracking down those pieces of sheet metal that go over the trim/frame?
Any help?

Yeah -- I'm only speculating, but I'm sure that is how they do it. Then they staple it into the wood.Like you would use a metal brake on? Vinyl siding supply house.
What kind of siding do you have? That could make a big difference in what you are able to do.
We have vinyl siding. Thanks everyone for the tips. What kind of siding do you have? That could make a big difference in what you are able to do.
Yeah.....definitely not a do-it-yourself job unless you want to buy a $1200-1400 metal bending machine.
They don't sell metal pre-fab like that because it'd be bent in shipping too easily. You can get fascia pre-bent, but only from siding wholesalers. None of the big box stores want to mess with constant returns on it.

My friend works for a door and window company, so I am going to see if I can find someone to come out and do it for me. I was going to try tackling it myself, but without the materials and tools, I'd rather just pay someone.
Interesting. I have never used or heard of a J channel or brick molding so I guess I better start doing some research. Is the J channel still there? If it is, and they just removed the standard brick mould from around the door I would just go buy some vinyl brick mould and put that on. It's never going to rot out.
