I purchased a cheap ryobi jigsaw from home depot and I used it once and really think it's a piece of crap.

I would like to return it to home depot. I don't mind a store credit... I have original packaging and receipt.

Would they accept a return? At the very least, I'll exchange it for a new unit. The jigsaw's lock position for a straight-cut is skewed preventing straight cuts. It's not aligned with the laser site.

Thanks for all the input.

I'm sure they'll take it back if you're genuinely dissatisfied; I believe it says 2 year satisfaction guarantee right on the box, and Ryobi tools are exclusive to Home Depot.

I was at Home Depot in line behind a guy who was trying to return a Ryobi sander that had dust all over it. They tested it out, found that it worked fine and told him to pound sand. I don't think they appreciate people trying to use them for free rentals, but they do stand by their tools if they're defective.

I'll buy it from you. I need a new saw for my rituals. After thousands and thousands of bodies, my saw blades have grown dull and it is becoming more of a pain as my victims are able to squirm around for longer. Anyway, PM me if you're interested.
