I bought shelf from ikea couple month ago $15, couple days ago it fell down. So today I went to buy three brackets to hold it underneath $16.

He meant $16 for the brackets alone. The original $15 was for brackets and shelves.

Original $15 was only a shelf...no wonder it fell!

Ikea shelf comes with no brackets you just use about 6screw on the side of the shelf into the wall.

wth did you put on the shelf? A Lian Li case? Couple of bowling balls? HDTV?

Did you hit a stud when attaching it to the wall?

If you didnt did you use wall anchors rated for the weight you were intending to put on the shelves?

Well that's a stupid design, no wonder it fell. I bet it won't fall again unless you pile a ridiculous amount of weight on there though.
