(Home Audio) Does this exist?

Now that I've done DVD and found a 300+ disc CD changer, I'm ready to investigate the next addition to my home system. Are there any MP3 units that can read files off a CD (better yet, a CDRW)? (Now that I am dreaming, ...) Would such a unit also have CD/MP3 recording? MiniDisc? SuperAudio CD? HDCD?

I'm not counting on something like this (right now), but it'd be nice to know if it is already out there.

EDIT: added the recording aspect :)

These do exist. I've yet to run across a home "deck" version, but I do know they exist in a discman type version and also there are a couple of in dash car stereo units that do it too. Kenwood and Aiwa I think. Let me do a little reserach and see if I can linkify for you.

Yeah, I've seen a few car decks and probably some portables, now that I think about it.

But, I thinking in terms of home audio right now. And I left out a feature: CD recorder. Doh!

Viola!!!! Here is the LINKyou're looking for!!!!
Except for the burner part. You're on your own for that. But follow the link and you'll find a home deck version of what you're after.

Great finds, JR.

I'm just now realizing that I've been without recording capability in my home theater for about a year now. Thankfully, I've proved that I really don't need it. But, if a MP3-capable CD recorder was out there, I would keep my eyes on it. SuperAudio CD, HDCD, and MiniDisc would truly be added bonuses if such a unit exists. :)

Here's what I'm sitting on now:

Toshiba SD6109C DVD Receiver
Pioneer PD-F1009 301-Disc Compact Disc Changer
JBL TLXCSS-SP1000 5.1 Home Cinema Speaker Set (PDF)

Needs a CD recorder (+MP3+CDRW+everything else), right?

BTW, who said that my PC isn't already connected to my stereo? :p

My Apex AD-600A DVD player does. ;)

I'd like to daisy a couple of those 300disc DVD player together and have a collection of movies at my finger tips.

With the increase in size of Hard Drives (and the ability to store 10's of thousands of songs), a computer will be as much a part of a (my) complete Home Audio system as is a CD player.
