If you guys wanna see even more cool stuff than that, head up to CES in Las Vegas this coming Jan 9-12.

I'll be there 10-12 checking out the gadgets and gizmos :)

I don't see a benefit for other than shock factor.
Uh, how about gaming or perhaps actual work. This is a much better solution than just multiple screens.

From the looks of it, it is just multiple screens. They just put them together in one frame. The quality doesn't look that great either -- you can see where the seams meet, and it looks all rippled and distorted -- maybe it's just the camera. Am I the first one to not be impressed by this? :)

pretty sweet, although the monitor should be a bit taller. I wonder who makes it though.

Damn, the future is here. I'm not sure what impresses me more, the display or the software.

You're judging the picture quality based on a JPEG compressed picture? I think you know what I meant by multiple screens. I'd rather have light lines separating the glass, than a 1.5 - 2" bezel.

Bitchin' technology.

To those of your who don't see the benefits, I run 3 monitors on the same PC in order to gain this kind of desktop real estate. Once you try it, you simply cannot go back.

Is Microsoft in to monitor-business? Yes, the monitor is really cool, but there's no reason some other OS couldn't run on it as well. As such, it's not really impressive as MS research-project (I mean, what is that exactly? widescreen-monitor? MS does not make monitors (last time I checked), so that isn't really MS-stuff. The stuff in the screen is, but not the actual monitor).
