average response time for a human is 1/2 a second. at 60 miles per hour that is roughly 44 feet before they realize something is wrong. they may not have seen him until 20 feet before he landed there, giving them another ~24 feet to go before their foot starts for the brakes.

this is based on averages, but id bet its close to accurate. watching the video shows it is within acceptable accuracy to me anyway...

im glad he didnt get killed.
