Just got into work, made it before the bad rains which seem to be just south of here. Tons of lightning and thunder though. DC101 went out a few times when lightning struck.

ooo looking at the radar looks mighty purty. I love thunderstorms, especially when they are around when I have the chance to just sit out on a deck or porch and waste time by watching them.
much like I'm wasting time by posting in ATOT right now. damn me. back to work sir. :crack: sometimes I feel like I need a zoo keeper with a tiger on chains right next to me, and whenever I drift off from work, like I am still doing, the tension of the chain would slack a bit. oooo just felt a chill imagining just that happening right now...

I'm at work right now and all of our DCA and BWI flights are stopped. The band of storms that are hitting you guys now have tops to FL530 (53,000 feet) and they're heading this way. Its going to be a looooooooong day at work. 🙁

Down here near Quantico it passed through on my way in. Lots of lightning, it was actually really cool despite the traffic it caused on I-95.

Ya we had a weird storm last night . Dumped a bunch.
Fri.day night my son and neighbor took me to the races. I don't get out much anymore. But I noticed when Sun was setting that it seemed to far north. So I said something to son about it. Ha laughed it off . Than I asked older guy close by . If he noticed anything funny about sun . He is hunter I new him . He looked at it for a moment. Than replied . You know its seems to be to far north. . My wife just a few moments ago saying to me , It a beutiful sunny shinny morning . I said yes it is. Notice anything else . She replies no. I said how about its location . She replied it does seem to be to far north . I can tell ya . I have lived in this same exact place my entire life . Not one degree of movement from my perspective. Yet I can tell ya Suns to far N. ON june 21 its the farthest N it moves . Never has it been more than a couple of degrees N of where I live on the 21 june. Its way past that point already.

I made it into work just as it was starting. Thank God I wasn't on the Beltway when it hit. I'm sure traffic was horrible.
As I was going West on the Beltway and hit the Silver Spring area, the sky to the West looked absolutely terrifying.
It's not often we get such strong storms in the morning. I'll bet we get some even better ones in the afternoon when the saucy humidity gets going.

It was probably worse in that I do the reverse commute, so things were moving fast enough that there was a ton of road spray being kicked up in addition to the downpour. I had my wipers on the fastest setting, which I haven't used in a few years.
That's pretty much what I heard, so I'm probably going to end up with my afternoon commute shot to hell too.

that was the strangest storm i have ever witness. it was like a constant thunder for 45 minutes straight. and i dont mean on and off, i mean like a CONSTANT rumble for at least 45 minutes in a row with the loudest thunder i've ever heard between. there wasn't very much lightning which was weird. it down poured like 2x around me, hardest rain i've seen in a very long time.
i'm just glad i could eventually fall back asleep through all of it heh, but i still feel like zombie at work.
