damn, everyonce in a while it starts flickering, just the corners, and just now the screen went black and came back in no time. UHOH this is scary lol. hmm, but maybe ill get a better monitor, as this one sucks from dell.o yea, i think its the powersupply

One time a monitor fell, and then a hissing sound was heard... and a more convenient time for a lunch break could not be found 😀
 
I had a monitor catch fire out of no where..

it was working fine.. just playing starcraft.. then all of the sudden it started to spark and smoke.. I said F*** and unplugged it. Needless to say I trashed it soon after.

Yep, mine just crapped it about two weeks ago. I am using the biggest POS right now until I get my tax return and can get a new one.
 
Heh. I've been operating one in similar condition for a long time. $300 no-name 19" at CompUSA. EXACTLY when the warrenty went up, geometry become irreperably distorted. Contrast soon after became irreperably high, brightness irreperably low and gamma fscked up. PowerStrip takes care of these things, but the geometry is still disgusting (It's as if the monitor thinks it's projecting onto a concave surface). It also has an EMI leak in the freaking audible spectrum. It goes out of focus and back in at it's own will. I'll be neffing, and suddenly I can't read any text. Then half an hour later, it's fine.
 
I wish my monitor at work would explode....they're giving people 17" LCDs now when they get new PCs (too bad my PC got replaced last year - means I have to wait TWO MORE YEARS for a new one 🙁🙁, unless, of course, my CRT explodes 😀)
