So I get home this afternoon to find that I didn't close my door all the way. I walk in and the cat had knocked a water glass right onto the tower. This is a very bad thing since I have a 120mm fan on top of the tower. What little water was in the cup poured through the fan grill, dripped down the motherboard, across the ram, and out through another fan whole in the bottom. I just spent the last 4 hours taking it all apart, drying it, and trying to get it to work again, my ram is still acting up giving me some random restarts. Wow that sucked.

first rule, don't keep drink near the machine, especially when you have a fan to suck them right up on the top of your computer! Good luck on fixing it!!!! :)

I would take out all the parts, lay them out on the table, let them dry overnight, then try again. Manually drying them cannot possibly get all the water out. There will be condensation/moisture you are sure to miss.

I actually fixed it already, I used a leaf blower and blew the crap out of it, I can't see that it hurt anything and I would recomend doing this to clean dust out, you wouldn't beleive how much dust came out when i did that.

ROFL!

IMO, thats the funniest mental image I can conjure.

Frustrated man... standing over computer with a gas-powered leaf blower revving away... as the cat sits frozen outside feeling rather guilty.

There's something hilarious about my mental image of you raging a PC with a leafblower.

Cats check things out and knock stuiff over, it's what they do. Is it the cat's fault he was allowed in the house near a PC and glass of water?

Hot air + flat surface = prime KittAh napping realestate.

Sorry about the computer, but all that KittAh knows is that it's warm and makes a comforting purr.

Pics? :)
