It kinda looked like Nutella so I just took a big spoonful without even sniffing it. Oh my god, it took about 10 cups of milk to wash down that taste.
It's disgusting like that for anyone.

You're supposed to have a very thin layer of it on hot toast/bagel.

For those who have tried it, what does it taste like?

It's kind of like chocolate but tastes a tad healthier.

Also, to the people saying it tastes like sh!t, how do you know what sh!t tastes like? :Q

I've never tasted sh!t personally but I imagine that if I had it would taste something like vegemite. :p

The bizarre crackdown was prompted because Vegemite contains folate, which in the US can be added only to breads and cereals.

Hey is my only potential life-saving drug going to be approved within the decade? I'm tired of suffering endlessly.

They had banned it years ago. I was on a rugby team that traveled to New Zealand in 1994 and US Customs pulled it out of my luggage coming back. They let my friend keep his bong though.

"something right"? How so?

I think it's funny that it's banned, but stupid. If the stuff's OK in breads and cereals, why not in a spread?

Probably something leftover from an antiquated definition of a food. Hell, you can't call a food fruit cocktail unless it meets specific concentrations of certain fruits. The only ones who would contest it are Aussies.
EDIT: Hmmm.. looks like the US started a folate fortification program in 1998 in flour. Who knows, maybe they just messed up the wording in whatever law that is preventing vegemite. Personally, I think they're doing society a service here.

That's sick.

How about cheese?
