HOLY MOLY- Setting CPU/Ram speed to 3/4 SMOKES!!!!P4B266

system specs below in sig- HERE is the sandra results, bumping my cpu/ram timings to 3/4, from 1/1, on my new P4B266 Asus, and 1.8 at 133 fsb. I am using Crucial pc2100, and figured the board wouldn't even post at these speeds. Doesn't this mean my ram is actually running at 177 fsb??? ( timings in bios are set to normal, not turbo).
BTW, Sandra version 2002 Professional, 1.8.59

I have run all benches, and she seems stable as hell- I love this board!!!!!!!!!

If you've got your P4B266 actually set at 133FSB your memory is only running at 1:1 (266Mhz). This board locks the memory to 1:1 starting at 133FSB. If you drop down to 132 your memory speed will be 354Mhz at 3:4. From my experience your Crucial RAM won't do that . Best my 512 Crucial (with Infineon chips) would do is 305Mhz. YMMV.

just checked: 132 in bios, and 132.19 in WCPUID. I knew it dropped to 1:1 @133. Do your mem scores beat the Rambus scores as well ???

Sheet yeah, at 130FSB my memory score is 2623 vs. 2450 for Sandra's Rambus benchmark. I'm running Kingmax PC2700 5ns. My 512 stick of Crucial wouldn't cut it over 305Mhz.

super: I could never get this ram to run over 145 fsb on my Iwill XP333 board, must have been something else crapping out, or a board/ chipset limitation???
I have the mem voltage set to the first position over default: guess we'll leave things be, as we are a flying 🙂
Think maybe the prob with your Crucial was it was a single stick?? I am running 2x 256.

I've heard that you can have more problems with 2 sticks than with just one. I think the RAM just ran out of steam over 305Mhz. It is only PC2100 and runs at PC2400 speeds. Maybe the Infineon chips aren't as good as Micron chips?
